We are looking for professional and reliable Security Officer to join our Security team.
You’ll have strong experience as a self-motivated and customer focused Security Officer.

Responsible for :

  • Patrol our sites, both internal & external to prevent and detect any signs of intrusion, ensuring the safety of the business & employees.
  • Respond immediately to any alarms or disturbances, reporting these to the Security & Facilities Manager.
  • You will possibly be the first response in the event of an emergency that poses an immediate risk to life & property (e.g., fire, first aid and other related H&S issues).
  • Control & monitor access control systems.
  • Provide new employees with the relevant access rights & passes & initial security guidance.
  • Monitor the arrival & departure of aql employees.
  • Authorise & monitor the arrival & departure of external visitors, suppliers, and contractors, while maintaining the security of the premises & providing a professional, friendly welcome. As an aql Security Officer you are the face of the business, the first & sometimes last aql’er that visitors to our sites see.
  • You will be able to follow detailed procedures for various initiatives, including deliveries, fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control & accident investigations.
  • Effectively use aql systems/software to assist in daily security operations.
  • Complete reports in a timely & efficient manner regarding daily activities, including any irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, maintenance issues, presence of unauthorised persons & unusual occurrences, ensuring that all relevant staff are informed using the correct channels.
  • Monitoring of CCTV, responding & reporting incidents that are unusual or suspicious.
  • Answer calls taking messages if necessary & provide information during non-business hours.
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by the Security & Facilities Manager or a member of Senior Leadership team.

You will have:

  • A valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
  • A valid first aid certificate, minimum of First Aid at Work.
  • A proven track record in security i.e., Telecommunications, Data Centre, Police, Military, Finance, Banking & other similar security institutions. With a minimum of five years experience.
  • An understanding of ISO 27001 as applied to the Physical Security environment.
  • A keen attention to detail.
  • The ability to work well on your own & as part of a team & take instruction from the Security Manager.
  • Excellent interpersonal/ communication skills both verbal & written.
  • Report writing skills, you must be able to complete daily & incident reports.
  • Both numerate & computer literate, knowledge of Windows, Swift & Jira are an advantage.
  • Able to maintain a low key but vigilant presence.
  • You will be honest, committed, flexible, reliable & have Integrity.
  • You will also be willing to undertake further training to enhance your role within the business.
