We create private LoRaWAN networks for the internet of things. We can transfer the data back to wherever you want, including our data centres. aql currently has a public LoRaWAN network running in Leeds.

What is LoRaWAN?

LoRaWAN, or Long Range Wide Area Network, is a technology that enables the internet of things. It supports low-power, long-range, low-cost mobile communications.

Because it uses very small amounts of both data and power, LoRaWAN helps 'unclog' networks and increase energy efficiency. This is increasingly important given the tens of millions of connected devices coming online each year.

LoRaWAN helps extend battery life significantly, so devices can last up to 10 years, and can be used in conjunction with any type of sensor.

  • Low power (battery-powered devices can last for years)
  • Low cost
  • Low data usage
  • Long range
  • Versatile

Work with the Eden Project

aql is working with the Eden Project on a LoRaWAN-based project to measure plastic bottle usage and water usage efficiency. More information coming soon.
