aql sponsors fifth annual Child Friendly Leeds Awards
aql is delighted to continue its partnership with Child Friendly Leeds as the sponsor of the 2018 CFL Awards.
The annual ceremony, which takes place this year on 1st February at Leeds City Varieties, celebrates the people, organisations and places helping make Leeds the best city in the UK for children and young people. This year’s awards are also the culmination of CFL’s fifth birthday celebrations.
The awards are being planned and presented by a group of 10 young people, aged 12-18, from seven schools across the region: Temple Moor High, Cockburn High, Allerton Grange High, Harrogate Grammar School, Abbey Grange C of E High, Farnley Academy and Notre Dame Sixth Form College. The night’s theme is ‘Party Through the Decades’, with attendees – including supporters and city leaders – encouraged to dress in outfits from the decade of their choosing.
Said aql founder and CEO Prof. Adam Beaumont: “We’re absolutely committed to our partnership with Child Friendly Leeds and are proud to sponsor the fifth annual CFL Awards. Young people are our future and we have to do all we can to enable them to thrive.”
Added Councillor Lisa Mulherin, the council’s executive member for children and families: “There are some fantastic people, places and organisations committed to making Leeds a better city for children and young people and it’s great that we are able to celebrate their work, through the Child Friendly Leeds Awards.”
