What is managed IP?

Managed IP routing allows data from your SIMs to be delivered through a secure, routed connection via aql’s core network – without needing to build and manage your own network infrastructure. With this setup, aql handles IP address assignment and authentication. You still gain reliable, secure access to your devices, but without the need for tunnelling protocols or a customer-owned LNS and RADIUS setup. It’s a straightforward way to achieve greater control and visibility, while keeping things simple.

What is L2TP?

Layer 2 Tunnelling Protocol (L2TP), is a secure way to pass data from a SIM card directly to your own private network – bypassing the public internet. At aql, we use L2TP to give you full control over your SIM estate. This means instead of us handling things like authentication and assigning IP addresses, we pass the raw, unauthenticated data session directly to you. You can then manage your devices exactly how you want, with your own security, rules, and IP structure.
